28 Schreckhornhütte – alpiner Hüttenaufstieg (T4) 4-5h

The ascent to the Schreckhornhütte follows the Lower Grindelwald Glacier and is a blue-marked alpine hiking trail (T4). Experience, sure-footedness, and a head for heights are prerequisites.

From Bäregg, follow the white-blue-white marked path via Bänisegg. Rocky sections with steps and chains, a stream crossing at Rots Gufer, and secured sections characterize the path. Via Schwarzegg (hut ruins from 1877), you reach the Schreckhornhütte in about 10 minutes.

Extra caution is advised in wet conditions. Good planning and equipment are essential.
