Jump, swing and play – discover our playground right next to the cable car’s mountain station and enjoy fun and games surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.

Right next to the cablecar mountain station, our playground is the perfect place for children to let off steam. Our latest addition is the Dohli bouncy castle, where little adventurers can bounce to their hearts’ content! The slide and zip line offer even more fun and action. From the viewpoint, you can enjoy sweeping views over Grindelwald and the surrounding mountains.

Treasure Hunt

Even more adventure awaits on our treasure hunt. Follow in the footsteps of knights, dragons and giants as you explore the legends and fairy tales of Grindelwald. Discover Pfingstegg with your family and enjoy a special outing filled with play, activity and storytelling.

The treasure chest can be purchased at the ticket counter at either the valley station or the mountain station for CHF 10.00.

Playground

There’s plenty to discover at our playground: soar through the air on the zip line, whizz down the slide and bounce to your heart’s content in Dohli’s bouncy castle. Two children’s swings add to the fun, while the two reclining swings invite you to gently sway and relax. From the viewing platform, enjoy panoramic views of Grindelwald and the surrounding mountains.

Barbecue Area

Our barbecue area is the perfect place to grill and relax, with uninterrupted views of Grindelwald, the Eiger North Face and First. A retractable sunshade provides shade over the picnic tables, while an old chairlift seat adds a unique touch.

Firewood and a grill grate are provided. Two tables seat a total of 20 people, with seating for another nine around the fire pit and 18 additional seats nearby.

Waste disposal facilities are available on site, and you’ll find a toilet at the cable car’s mountain station. The barbecue area is located along the hiking trail towards Marmorbruch and Bäregg.

Travelling to the Pfingstegg cablecar

  • Pfingstegg Parking

    The valley station of the Pfingstegg cable car is located on the southern edge of the village of Grindelwald and can be easily reached on foot in about 15 minutes from the train station. For guests arriving by public transport, the bus stop “Grindelwald, Pfingsteggbahn” is located right next to the valley station. Visitors arriving by car will find public parking spaces nearby.   • Public Transportation

    The Pfingstegg cable car is easily accessible by public bus from Grindelwald train station – the ride takes only about 5 minutes. Buses run regularly every 15 to 30 minutes. Get off at the “Grindelwald, Pfingsteggbahn” stop, located right next to the valley station. Perfect for a stress-free journey without a car!

  • Park+Ride Grindelwald Terminal

    Additional parking spaces are available at the Grindelwald Terminal car park. With your parking ticket, you can use the public bus (line 120) free of charge to and from the Pfingsteggbahn. The bus connects the Terminal with the village centre, the railway station and the valley station of the Pfingsteggbahn – ideal for a relaxed arrival without the hassle of finding parking in the village. The Park & Ride bus (line 120) operates at regular intervals from 14 May to 11 October.
