High above Grindelwald, at the foot of the impressive Mettenberg, this varied mountain trail leads down to Hotel Wetterhorn. The route is mostly downhill and includes some exciting sections – including the spectacular Breitlouwina Tunnel. Sure-footedness and sturdy footwear are essential. Caution: Do not stop in areas at risk of falling rocks!

Beautifully laid out high-level trail with magnificent views. You reach the Milchbach restaurant on a good hiking trail with gentle ups and downs. You cross the unique Breitlouwina rock paradise. After a short descent you reach the Hotel Wetterhorn with bus stop.

Travelling to the Pfingstegg cablecar

  • Pfingstegg Parking

    The valley station of the Pfingstegg cable car is located on the southern edge of the village of Grindelwald and can be easily reached on foot in about 15 minutes from the train station. For guests arriving by public transport, the bus stop “Grindelwald, Pfingsteggbahn” is located right next to the valley station. Visitors arriving by car will find public parking spaces nearby.   • Public Transportation

    The Pfingstegg cable car is easily accessible by public bus from Grindelwald train station – the ride takes only about 5 minutes. Buses run regularly every 15 to 30 minutes. Get off at the “Grindelwald, Pfingsteggbahn” stop, located right next to the valley station. Perfect for a stress-free journey without a car!

  • Park+Ride Grindelwald Terminal

    Additional parking spaces are available at the Grindelwald Terminal car park. With your parking ticket, you can use the public bus (line 120) free of charge to and from the Pfingsteggbahn. The bus connects the Terminal with the village centre, the railway station and the valley station of the Pfingsteggbahn – ideal for a relaxed arrival without the hassle of finding parking in the village. The Park & Ride bus (line 120) operates at regular intervals from 14 May to 11 October.
